The 7 Hermetic Principles: A Practical Guide to Mastering Your Reality and Accelerating Your Ascension
There is one ancient body of wisdom that keeps showing up for me—and for so many of you who are walking the awakening path—and that is the 7 Hermetic Principles from the Kybalion. These aren’t just dusty philosophical ideas from thousands of years ago. They are practical tools you can use right now, every single day, to raise your vibration, shape your reality, and move deeper into your ascension journey.
When I first came across them during my own awakening, everything started clicking. The loneliness, the synchronicities, the feeling that I was finally understanding how the universe really works—it all made sense through these principles. They helped me stop feeling like life was happening to me and start realizing I was co-creating it with every thought, emotion, and intention.
In this guide, I’m breaking each principle down in plain language, sharing how it shows up in everyday life, and giving you simple, doable practices you can start today. No fluff. Just real tools that have worked for me, my clients in QHHT and Reiki sessions, and the beautiful souls in our community. Let’s dive in.
1. The Principle of Mentalism – “The All is Mind; the Universe is Mental.” Everything begins in the mind. Your thoughts are the blueprint for your reality. This one hit me hard during my dark night of the soul—once I realized my constant worry and fear were literally creating more of the same, I started choosing different thoughts on purpose.
Practical Application: Every morning, spend just five minutes in a quiet space and consciously set the “mental blueprint” for your day. Sit comfortably, close your eyes, and repeat: “My mind is aligned with love, abundance, and divine flow.” Feel it as already true. Then go about your day noticing how situations shift to match that mental state. This simple act trains your consciousness to create instead of react.
2. The Principle of Correspondence – “As above, so below; as below, so above.” What happens in your inner world is mirrored in your outer world. Your energy, beliefs, and emotions are reflected back to you in relationships, health, and opportunities.
Practical Application: Do a quick nightly “mirror check.” Grab a journal and write down one challenge you faced that day. Then ask: “What inside me is this situation reflecting?” Be honest but gentle with yourself. Once you see the inner pattern, shift it with a short affirmation or visualization. I’ve watched clients transform repeating money or relationship struggles almost overnight once they started working on the inner mirror instead of the outer symptom.
3. The Principle of Vibration – “Nothing rests; everything moves; everything vibrates.” You already know this one if you’ve followed my earlier posts on frequency and consciousness. Your vibration is your point of attraction. Raising it is the fastest way to accelerate ascension.
Practical Application: Create a 10-minute daily “vibration reset.” Put on any music that feels good (no specific frequency needed), stand up, and move your body freely while saying out loud what you choose to feel: “I am vibrating at the frequency of joy, health, and clarity.” Let the movement shake off lower energies. You’ll be amazed how quickly your mood and circumstances lift when you do this consistently.
4. The Principle of Polarity – “Everything is dual; everything has poles; everything has its pair of opposites.” There is no “good” or “bad”—only degrees on the same scale. Fear and courage are the same energy at different poles. Lack and abundance are the same. You can consciously swing from one to the other.
Practical Application: When you catch yourself in a low emotional state (anger, fear, doubt), pause and name the opposite pole out loud: “This is fear, and the opposite is courage and trust.” Then take one small action that belongs to the higher pole—send a loving text, take a walk in nature, or speak a gratitude statement. This is what is known as “neutralization” you are taking one polarity and neutralizing it by taking it to its opposite. This simple flip has pulled me out of many dark nights and helped clients shift chronic anxiety into empowered calm.
5. The Principle of Rhythm – “Everything flows, out and in; everything has its tides.” Life moves in cycles. There will be highs and lows, but you don’t have to get swept away by the lows. You can learn to ride the rhythm instead of fighting it.
Practical Application: Track your personal rhythms for two weeks. Note your energy levels, moods, and even sleep patterns in a simple notebook. Once you see your natural cycles, plan your life around them instead of against them. Schedule big tasks during high-energy phases and gentle self-care (Reiki self-treatments, meditation, or just rest) during lower ones. This one practice alone removed so much self-judgment for me and many of you who feel “behind” during slower seasons.
6. The Principle of Cause and Effect – “Every cause has its effect; every effect has its cause.” Nothing happens by chance. Your current reality is the effect of past thoughts, words, and actions. The beautiful part? You can plant new causes right now and watch new effects unfold.
Practical Application: At the end of each day, do a quick “cause review.” Ask yourself: “What one cause did I plant today that I want to see grow?” Then intentionally plant one new seed—maybe a kind word, a boundary, or a moment of presence. Over time you’ll start seeing the effects compound in beautiful ways. This is exactly how I watched my own healing practice grow from a quiet side passion into the full Ascension Healings work we do today.
7. The Principle of Gender – “Gender is in everything; everything has its masculine and feminine principles.” This isn’t about male or female bodies—it’s about the balance of active (masculine) energy and receptive (feminine) energy within all of us. Creation happens when both are in harmony.
Practical Application: Once a week, do a short balancing ritual. Sit quietly and place one hand on your lower belly (feminine/receptive) and the other on your heart or throat (masculine/active). Breathe slowly and silently say: “I am balanced in my giving and receiving. I create with ease.” Then take one inspired action (masculine) while staying open to guidance (feminine). Clients who work with this balance often report faster manifestations and a deep sense of inner peace.
Applying these 7 Hermetic Principles isn’t about becoming perfect—it’s about becoming conscious. When you start living them instead of just reading about them, your vibration naturally rises, your connection to your higher self strengthens, and the universe begins to respond in ways that feel almost magical.
If you’re going through your own awakening right now and these principles are lighting something up inside you, I want you to know you’re not alone. I’ve been there. Thousands of others have been there. And there is beautiful support waiting for you.
Try one principle a week. Keep it simple. Notice what shifts. And when you’re ready for deeper work—whether that’s a QHHT session to meet your higher self directly, Reiki for energy alignment, or just some one-on-one coaching—my wife and I are here.
Drop a comment below and tell me which principle resonates with you most right now, or share one small way you’re going to apply it this week. I read every single one.
